Scholarships

Marywood University students depend on scholarships to make their education more affordable. Students are borrowing twice as much in student loans as they did just ten years ago, doubling their debt. Even though federal and state grants have increased, students are still stretching beyond their means in order to attend Marywood. Receiving a scholarship, especially in the current economy, gives Marywood students a better chance to achieve their goals.

Marywood offers various ways for you to make an impact through the gift of a scholarship:

• Endowed Scholarships begin at $50,000 and are invested through a restricted account in the University endowment. Each year, a percentage of the annual income generated is distributed in the form of a scholarship. The initial principal will be invested for perpetuity and can be added to at any time.

• Annual Scholarships begin at $10,000 and are usually distributed over a minimum of five years. Once the contributed funds are expended, the scholarship will be discontinued.

 

• The Marywood Scholarship Fund is a general fund that helps the 99% of Marywood students who receive financial aid. These funds are included in the students’ financial aidpackages.
