
In the Fall of 2009, Marywood University established the School of Architecture—one of only a handful of programs in the nation to uniquely focus on sustainable design - to educate future architects in the pioneering principles and practices of green design. As the first school in the nation to require all professional track students to obtain US Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accreditation, Marywood is a leader in preparing green architects to rebuild, reshape, and renew our communities in harmony with nature.

The School of Architecture drew nearly 70 students in its inaugural class, doubling initial projections. As we already exceeded our recruitment goals in year two of the program, there is a pressing need for additional learning spaces and student workstations - both of which are critical to continued recruitment success. Architecture Phase II, with a projected cost of $6,000,000, will include the renovation of the pool area of the former Health & Physical Education Center.
